The Chronicles of Narnia Mary-Sue Community

Ow! My childhood!

In the fine tradition of other Sue-mocking communities, we give you narniasues, the first community dedicated to the eradication of Mary-Sues in The Chronicles of Narnia fandom. With the movie now upon us, there are more than enough fandom horrors to go around, so feel free to compile a report and share your pain. Unless someone volunteers to run a sister community for OOC/canon Sues (if a canon character is so warped that you could replace his or name with something else and not be able to distinguish the character from the average OC Sue), those are fair game here as well, but we ask that this community be mostly for the sporking of original character Sues. Please post OOC/canon Sues sparingly and at great discretion.

Guidelines for the Minions:
  1. Try to keep it to one Sue report and one off-topic post per day. The maintainers are not going to ban you for not following this perfectly, but if it gets out of hand, expect them to do something about it.
  2. Try not to stoop to making personal attacks on an author. We're here to mock badfic, not people.
  3. When posting a report, please use the following format, originally devised by marysues, and nicely HTMLed for your copy 'n' paste convenience:

Please use the lj-cut tag on the sample section.
  4. According to LiveJournal's terms of service, you cannot post a story or chapter in its entirety, no matter how short it is. You may link to the full story on the Pit of Voles or elsewhere, but for your report, please pick a few samples. The Semi-Evil Overladies didn't make this rule, LJ did.
  5. If you choose to leave a review on one of the reported stories, try to be constructive. Should a troll or flamer make a new post here, it will be deleted as soon as possible, so it's probably not worth the effort to reply. However, if a troll or flamer replies to an existing report post, go ahead and have at. If you're still worried about trolls, it's all right if you friend-lock the report so that only members can read it.
  6. According to the great Dave Barry, any discussion of religion will invariably end in someone being chased with machetes. The redemptive elements of Narnia are often a point of contention, so we ask that you do not make personal insults about anyone's belief system. Phrases like, "This story completely undermines [pick any religious principle] that Lewis was trying to convey" are OK, but flaming, personal insults, and proselyzitation are not. This goes across the board, regardless of religion or lack thereof.

If your story was featured:
Please remain calm. Just because we're making jokes about your story or your character does not mean that we hate you. We don't even know you. This is for our own amusement and is a way for us to vent our frustration. We're very thick-skinned, so your hissy fit will only amuse us more.

shannonsequitur and artfuldodger are your Semi-Evil Overladies. Love them and despair.
